Matt, who qualified for the event only last week, topped Group A after four rounds of Sit ´n´ Go tournaments against Sam Trickett, Tony G, Phil Laak, Erik Seidel, Andy Frankenberger, Eugene Katchalov and Luke Schwartz.

The format of the final table gives Matt an advantage over the remaining players, as each player starts with 10,000 chips for each point that accumulated in the semi-final stages. As Matt collected 40 points, he will begin the final table with 400,000 chips, while Phil Laak for example (who qualified for the final table via a heads up play-off) only collected 29 points during the four rounds of Sit´ n´ Go games and will therefore start with only 290,000 chips. Each player is also awarded $2,000 for each point they collected during the qualification for the final table, so Matt is also assured of $80,000 irrespective of how he performs when the final table plays out tomorrow.
