With The Poker Jungle only being live for 15 days when the Goliath began, it was pretty cool to have new faces come up to me and compliment me on a blog I’d written. Whilst there were no major scores or victories to celebrate (I played 4 Day 1’s this year and still missed making Day 2), we did have a few small successes. Welcome To Day Three – 11:01. Good morning and welcome to Day 3 of the biggest ever tournament outside of Las Vegas. The 2019 Goliath!! There are just 38 players coming back for Day 3, who is going to take it down?? The players have just started play. Blinds started at 125,000/250,000 with 250,000 big blind ante. Goliath 2019 The Poker Jungle Blog A ‘Jen’eral Update – The Main Event Hey all, I know there hasn’t been a blog for a couple days, with the late nights and early starts it’s quite hard to keep on top of things.

July 21, 2019The Poker Jungle

Before I begin, I must say just how fortunate me and my girlfriend are. For the last 3 years of the Goliath, we’ve been able to stay with friends in Warwick for the full duration of the festival, saving us hundreds of pounds. This allows us to be able to play a lot more events than most people and affords us a few days off poker once we’ve got through Day 1 (fingers crossed!).
Now even if we were to spend every waking hour of our time at the Grosvenor Casino in Coventry, we simply wouldn’t be able to play all of the events the Goliath has to offer. There is a lot of overlap between events, so we have chosen the tournaments that appeal to us most.

So without further ado:

The National 25/50 £50,000 Gtd – We’ve got some unfinished business here! Jen finished 9th for £2,000 last year while I came 28th for £700. I feel a lot of people miss out on this event but for me, this is where the Goliath really begins!

Redtooth Big One £25,000 Gtd – Missed out on this last year but am not going to do the same again this year! A good 1-day structure that falls nicely between Day 1 and Day 2 of the 25/50. Cannot wait!

Goliath Poker Blog Day 30

The GOLIATH Main Event – I’m on a mission this year: MAKE DAY 2! I’ve never managed it and am quickly falling behind Jen’s best ever finish at 39th place for £1,595! We’re playing our first Day 1 on Monday 29th July (Day 1C) and hoping that it doesn’t get too expensive getting to our Day 2 goal!

Cash Games – 24 hour cash games running all week long, what’s not to love?! At it’s peak, THE GOLIATH has has 40+ cash tables running at once and I’m planning on getting a lot more involved this year!

So that’s our plan for week. There are a number of other great events on during the GOLIATH but it will just depend on how the above tournaments go as to whether we get to play them or not.

I’d like to think we’d get to play at least a few of the following, in addition to the games we already have planned:
Flip and Goes
All-in or Fold tournaments
Win The Button
Tag Team
Super High Roller?!?!
(Weird they have a Super High Roller, but not a High Roller…)
